Hundreds of migrants, including unaccompanied minors, were rescued from an abandoned truck trailer in Veracruz, Mexico, on March 5, local officials said. Footage released by the Instituto Nacional de Migracion shows migrants being pulled out of the back of the packed trailer after the doors are opened. The Instituto Nacional de Migracion said in a statement that 343 people were inside the trailer, including 103 unaccompanied minors, 212 adults, and 28 people in various family groups. The migrants came from Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and Ecuador, the statement said. The minors were placed in the custody of Mexican authorities.
