Im Jahr 2019 wurde das Datum im Land Berlin zum gesetzlichen Feiertag erklärt.

The 'Feminist - Solidarity - Trade Union' demonstration, organised by the Verdi union and various other initiatives, is calling for equal pay and better working conditions for women. International Women's Day has been celebrated worldwide for more than a century. It developed through the labour movement and is recognised by the United Nations. The date was made an official public holiday in the state of Berlin in 2019.

En direct de Berlin, le mercredi 8 mars, des milliers de personnes se rassemblent à l'occasion de la Journée internationale de la femme. La manifestation "Féminisme - Solidarité - Syndicats", organisée par le syndicat Verdi et diverses autres initiatives, réclame l'égalité salariale et de meilleures conditions de travail pour les femmes. La Journée internationale de la femme est célébrée dans le monde entier depuis plus d'un siècle. Elle s'est développée grâce au mouvement syndical et est reconnue par les Nations unies.
