Malachi 3:16 Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name.

The fear of the Lord is a central theme of the Bible, particularly in the wisdom literature, and is often misunderstood. It does not refer to a unreasonable terror or unreasonable dread of God, but rather to a deep profound reverence, respect, and awe for who He is and His power, wisdom, and authority. This fear is an essential foundation for a healthy relationship with God and is the beginning of true wisdom and understanding (Proverbs 9:10).
