A hawk rescue was captured on body camera in Kenosha County.
It happened Tuesday, March 21. The Kenosha County Sheriff's Department says Deputy Korin Bourdo was patrolling in the village of Somers, when she noticed a motorist in the middle of the eastbound lanes of County Highway S near Brumback Boulevard. She learned the driver was trying to catch an injured hawk.
The sheriff's department says the hawk had flown into the man's vehicle and broke one of its wings. The man was able to pick the bird up and, with the deputy's assistance, get it into a blanket and secure it in a bag to get it to a wildlife hospital.
The hope is the hawk will be released back into the wild upon healing.
