It was the second day that his testimony was taken into evidence. Harry had to basically preview his case and tell ANL why it was so important that the lawsuit go to trial. It has been fascinating to see the British media, particularly the Mail, attempt to cover Harry's unexpected appearance in London as well as this lawsuit. Although the Mail mostly ignored Harry's words, they used their platform to share their view of the matter. But only to a certain extent. This story was published as an exclusive by the Mail yesterday. It is an explicit punitive story about Archewell’s charitable arm. The Mail heavily editorialized and did a lot of things to suggest that something was amiss with Archewell’s finances. Tax records show that the Foundation of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2021 awarded $3 million in grants, raised $13million from wealthy benefactors, and received $4,500 in public donations. The latest tax returns have been released by the humanitarian charity. They reveal that it was largely supported by two wealthy philanthropists, who collectively contributed $13 million, and received only $4,470 from public donations. Archewell received $13,005,660 in total. $10 million came from an individual donor, $3million from another and $4,470 from other contributions and grants. DailyMail.com documents reveal that $1,190 was derived from 'investment income. It is possible that Oprah Winfrey made the largest donation in exchange for the interview Oprah gave with the Duke and Duchess in March 2021. Harry also received $3million as part of the $20 million advance he received to write his controversial autobiography Spare. The charity distributed $3,096,319 as grants. This is 24 percent of its income. At the end of 2021, it had $9,018,590 of reserves. It also shows that Harry and Meghan spent one hour a week working at the foundation, which is 52 hours per year. This is comparable to one week of full-time work. It raises questions about how they spent their time while Archewell was their primary focus. According to filings, the charity spent $163,000.85 on salaries. Although Harry and Meghan do not receive a salary, CEO James Holt works an hour per week and earns a $59 846 salary and $3832 in benefits. This means that he is earning $1,224/hour. It was known about the money entering Archewell, so it is strange to see this as new information or information that hurts the Sussexes. It is now that it appears Oprah "donated $10 million" to charity to pay them for their interview. It's okay if that's what happened. Oprah donated a donation and they weren't paid. It doesn't seem like the charity has lost $10 million. It will carry over into the next fiscal year. Harry and Meghan are not earning a salary and they don't work more than one hour per week.
