Ave Maria! - Grieving Mother's Lamp of Faith Remained Lit, Even on Holy Saturday - April 8, 2023

Fr. Joachim M. Mudd's reflection from Our Lady's Chapel, New Bedford, MA, for the "Hour of the Mother" paraliturgical devotion observed on Holy Saturday.

Traditionally in the Church, on Holy Saturday, we contemplate the Sorrowful Mother's - Mary's - mournful experience of her Son's death and absence, even as she awaited with confidence His Resurrection to come on the Third Day.

The "Hour of the Mother" is a tradition continued by the Franciscans of the Immaculate.
