According to the National Disaster Prevention Center, on April 15 alone, Popocatepetl produced 167 long emissions, and the total duration of the tremors that accompanied them was 59 minutes. Also in two days, experts recorded seven small eruptions.

The authorities recommend not approaching the volcano at a distance closer than 12 kilometers because of the possibility of large stones falling from the sky, erupted by Popocatepetl.

Due to the activity of the volcano, there is a risk that the authorities will have to close the Mexico City airport.

Since it is an active volcano and one of the most dangerous in the country, its activity has caused serious concern among residents of neighboring areas of Morelos, Puebla and the state of Mexico, writes Infobae.
