There are a lot of very angry people regarding Bud Light. They are now paying a $500 bonus to delivery drivers, sales representatives, and independent distributors. Many of these employees have been confronted on the street, in bars, or in stores according to the Wall Street Journal. Essentially, the are paying out bonuses to any worker that has to interact with the public.
For the week that ended April 22, Bud Light retail sales were down 21% versus the prior year. Sales of rival brands Coors Light and Miller Lite are up over 20%. It is clear that people who stopped buying Bud Light just switched to an alternative light beer.
I’ve been reading a lot of what you guys think. I just really don’t think men are going to buy a beer because they saw a commercial about it, honestly. However, if you insult your audience or make them feel the target of an attack, they will absolutely boycott your brand. What do you think? Tell me in the comments.
