Installing a new brake light switch.
Check engine light ON and ESC light ON
DTC codes: P0504 Brake switch A/B correlation
P0517 Battery temperature sensor -circuit high

Friend could not install the new switch but removed the bad switch. Everything you see that I was installing back in the end of the video was what he removed to get to the switch.

Attention!! Before replacing the brake light switch. Verify with this procedure.

Get a digital multimeter to test voltage and jump wire.

Disconnect the connector off of the switch. Then turn your multimeter on volts DC then put your black meter lead on a ground, (metal part on the vehicle) then locate a red wire in the connector, put your red meter lead on the red wire. If you got 12 volts...then that's good.

Reconnect to the switch and while pressing the brake pedal, check for voltage at a white wire. You can back probe the wire into the connector while it's plugged in.
If you have no voltage then remove the connector and run a small jumper wire between the red wire and the white wire.

If there is no voltage on the white wire. If by using the jump wire, and the brake lights do come ON. Then have verified that the switch needs to be replaced.
