Come compete in the Rockler Timed 2x4 Challenge! This is the kickoff of the latest Rockler challenge! There are prizes and awards for the top one in each category as well as a grand prize for the best in all three categories. This is what I would build if I was competing. I was asked to be one of the judges along with:

Official Contest Rules:
Three standard 8 foot two by fours are required for this challenge. Each 2 x 4 has a specific time designated for how long each project should take per 2x4. Each Maker has 30 minutes… two hours… and a one day build… for each of the three 2x4’s respectively.

The challenge will be held on Instagram. When you post your pictures you must include the hashtag #rocklertimed2x4challenge . This will be your official entry into the contest.

This contest will run from August 4, 2022 until November 1, 2022. The first week of November, myself and the other judges will deliberate on who has won each of the three timed categories plus the aggregate of all three combined for the grand prize.

The prizes are as follows:
$100 Rockler gift card for each of the three winners for the three timed categories.

The grand prize winner will receive a $200 gift to spend at www.aglimpseinside.org
Two custom blades and a brass ice pack from Jimmy Diresta.
An engraved stainless steel Tumblr and a T-shirt from Derek From Malden.
A set of plans and T-shirt from The Evening Woodworker
A one-of-a-kind décor board from Upcycled by Bri

Please note that as this challenge is timed, we encourage all makers to work safely!

I am an engineer by day and a woodworker by night... usually after the kids are in bed and before the neighbors call the cops!

I have a passion for building things out of wood and all things woodworking. I am always looking for new projects that look fun and challenging. My woodworking inspiration comes from my kids, my wife, and the forests around my house. I consider myself a serious hobbyist and I hope you can learn something and get inspired from the projects and mistakes that I make. I will also show you how I organize and work in my small shop in 1 bay of my garage. I will share videos of my past, current, and future woodworking projects with the goal of getting you out in the shop making sawdust!
