🥓 Stringing 3D Printing - 3D Print Settings - 3D Print Timelapse - Klein Bottle 3D Print

While 3D printing some Klein Bottles in silk PLA, i noticed that there was too much stringing. So i changed my settings. Here are the most important Simplify3D settings i changed:

- Lower temperature: 175°C (347°F)
- Higher movement speed: 125 to 150mm/second
- Higher retraction: 1.00 to 1.50mm
- Higher retraction speed: 50 to 60mm/second
- Coasting: 0.30 to 0.50mm
- Wipe distance: off to 1.00mm

💡 About the Klein Bottle:

What makes the Klein Bottle characteristic is that it has one continuous surface.
The neck of the bottle disappears into itself, it has no inside and outside.

- ±3600mm/minute (60mm/second) (vase mode)
- hotend 175°C | bed 50°C
- 250 micron | infill 15%
- 3 top layers | 3 bottom layers | 4 outline layers
- brass nozzle 0.35mm
- extrusion width 0.44mm
- retraction 1.50 mm
- retraction speed 3600mm/minute (60mm/second)
- extrusion multiplier 1.00
- coasting 0.50mm
- wipe distance 1.00mm
- cooling fan 75%
- no supports

⏱⚙ Timelapse layer change script:

M400 ; Waits for all the moves to be completed
G1 E-6.0 F3000 ; Retract -6.0mm at 3000mm/min or 50mm/sec
G1 Y150 F3400 ; Moves Y to position it for the photo
M400 ; Waits for all the moves to be completed
G1 X218 F3400 ; Moves X to focus the photo
M400 ; Waits for all the moves to be completed
G4 P1000 ; Waits 1000 milliseconds for the photo to focus
G1 X220 F1000 ; Moves X to take the photo (touching a remote with the extruder)
M400 ; Waits for all the moves to be completed
G4 P150 ; Presses 150 milliseconds on the remote button
