Last month, during a military conference held on a Royal Navy warship, British soldiers equipped with “Iron Man-style” jetpacks flew across New York City’s port.

Gravity Industries, a UK-based human flight startup, posted video of two men dressed in military fatigues, likely marines, taking off from the Queen Elizabeth Aircraft Carrier in New York Harbor during the Atlantic Future Forum. The meeting was conducted on the Royal Navy’s flagship on September 28 and 29.

Five gas turbine jet engines, each weighing under 75 pounds and producing 1,000 horsepower, are used to power each jet suit. The suit can propel the user forward at a top speed of 80 mph and up to a height of 12,000 feet. It runs on jet fuel, diesel, or kerosene
