Did you know that the chevrotain, also known as the mouse deer, is one of the smallest #ungulates in the world? Despite its name, the chevrotain is not a true deer, but a unique type of hoofed mammal found in Southeast Asia and parts of Africa. They are known for their petite size, with some species measuring only around 1.5 feet (45 centimeters) tall at the shoulder. Despite their small stature, chevrotains are excellent jumpers and can easily navigate through dense vegetation. Additionally, chevrotains have a special adaptation known as "tusk-like" upper canine teeth in males, which we'll explore in a later video.
