May 15 2023: I was asked to give listeners on several FOX News talk radio shows some advice on the problem found with melatonin gummies having higher than recommended amounts of melatonin than what is on the posted label. Also, how one study found CBD (from marijunana) in 5 of the products, also at higher levels than stated on the label.

Recommendation: Do NOT purchase or use any melatonin product in gummy form! Especially if you have children who will mistake it for candy. It appears many manufacturers are believing the gelatin degrades in the gummy and they need to add more melatonin to make up for it breaking down in the gummy. Making an assumption does not make it ok to add more than the recommended dosage. And yes, in some cases, the product had less than what the label stated.
Children and even adults don't really need a melatonin supplement to help promote sleep. I do not recommend melatonin gummies - or any supplement - in a gummy form to anyone.
I also do NOT recommend any CBD products for sleeping or anything else.
At most, a 5 mg melatonin tablet (not a gummy) is fine for adults - and not taken as a crutch every night to promote sleep. I do NOT recommend melatonin supplements for children at all.

I recommend almond milk which has natural tryptophan and melatonin in it versus dairy milk which can create digestive issues. Chamomile tea by itself or sugar free chocolate powder mixed in milk also helps promote sleep.
If you have taken or given melatonin gummies to your child or adult loved one and they or you are experiencing headaches, nausea, dizziness, stomach issues, etc., that is a sign of toxicity and taking the product needs to immediately stop!

If there are toxicity symptoms, the levels of melatonin will go down in the body by stopping the ingesting of the product. If you wish to flush out the excess melatonin a little quicker, a 100mg capsule of Pure Encapsulations Reduced Glutathione for children and a 500mg dose of reduced glutathione for adults taken for a couple of days will help.
