Shortly after the release of the first posters a few hours ago, Blumhouse Productions has premiered the teaser trailer for its film adaptation of the video game franchise “Five Nights at Freddy’s”.

The story follows a troubled security guard (Josh Hutcherson) as he begins working at the now-defunct family-friendly Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.

While spending his first night on the job, he realizes the night shift at Freddy’s won’t be so easy to make it through as the giant animatronic creatures turn deadly and can move when not being looked at.

The trailer shows off some shots very familiar to those with the game along with a glimpse of some of the evil animatronics at work. Matthew Lillard, Piper Rubio, Elizabeth Lail, Mary Stuart Masterson, Lucas Grant, Kat Conner Sterling and Jessica Blackmore co-star.

Five Nights at Freddy's is an upcoming supernatural horror film based on the video game series of the same name created by Scott Cawthon. Filming began on February 1, 2023, with Emma Tammi directing, and Jim Henson's Creature Shop building the film's animatronic cast. Filming wrapped on April 3, 2023. Five Nights at Freddy's is scheduled to be released simultaneously in theatres and on Peacock in the United States by Universal Pictures on October 27, 2023.

Mike Schmidt is a troubled security guard who starts a seemingly easy overnight gig at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, the local family entertainment center. Struggling to take care of his ten-year-old sister Abby on his own, the generally undependable Mike is low on options when he lands this new job to pay the bills, and brings her along to the gig. Mike quickly realizes, however, that the night shift at Freddy's won't be as kickback as he was thinking after he makes a disturbing discovery- that the pizza place's four horrifying animatronic mascots all apparently come alive, moving about on their own as they hunt down and attempt to kill anyone that is still at Freddy's after midnight.
