260619 Like and subscribe. This is an archive, check the link in the end if you are owner. Between 1935 and the outbreak of war in 1941, the US officially maintained a policy of "neutrality." But during that period the US moved progressively towards war, including combat and casualties. The "incidents" with the destroyers Greer, Kearny and Reuben James in the fall of 1941 demonstrate that the nation was at war before war was declared.
