Legalization is Decriminalized cannabis laws, but decriminalization does not equate to legalization. Prohibition and the war on drugs has led to many the one being confusion amongst users of medicinal or recreational cannabis around the United States. Nor does industrialization equal legalization. industrialization is Control of Indistry that is not Industry made into industry controlled by the government. Maryland is legalizing, on 07/01/2023 but the "legal cannabis" is 9-13%Delta 9 THC , it is only creating more legislation for police to tie up citizens & the government to control and regulate cannabis that was created by illicit entrepreneurs harassed and barreled by police forces through 2012, as the DEA stole millions from California.

Decriminalization can indeed lead to jail time and people often get mixedup. Decriminalizing is not legalizing, but legalization is decriminalization just taken to its most extreme form.
The current state of cannabis lawnin the United States is such that it iof extreme importance to know and stay current on the specifics of tye laws if your locality and state. We know cannabis is Federally illegal slowly creeping towards legalization. We know people always talk about 'decriminalization' not "legalization"; so what's the difference?
Decriminalization is the most complex aspect of this issue. The process of decriminalization is defined as a noun that means
'The action or process of ceasing to treat something as illegal or as a legal offense' according to Google dictionary.
Legalization is defined as a noun defining
'The act of making something permissible by law that was previously illegal.'
The key words here are permissible by law. This means that under the state, not the Federal system aka the United States but under each state that is decriminalized there are varrying conditions to the methods by which a substance is decriminalized.
For example, here in Maryland Cannabis is Medicnally legal and recreationally decriminalized. Under medicinal law a patient in Maryland is allowed to posess the standard prescription prescription 120grams cannabis flower and 36 grams concentrate or other THC products like distillate, RSO, tinctures, salves, lotions, etc. A doctor can increase this allotment but that is the allowed initial allotment for most patients. This is per month.
Now to clarify, that is 36 grams cannabis product or 120 grams flower or the Equivalent of the mixture to 120 grams + 36 grams flower. For every gram of THC product 3 grams of cannabis flower is removed from the allotment in addition to the THC product gram from your 36 grams. Ergo, essentially you can posess up to 120 grams or the Equivalent according to the above information per month under the decrkminalized medicinal law.
Recreational law applies to individuals who use cannabis on the Black Market. Recreational cannabis is also DECRIMINALIZED in maryland whereby one can posess up to 10 grams of cannabis as a non areestable misdemeanor offense.
It is extremely important to understand the minute details of recreational legalization in particular. This is because even If one were to over step their allotment as a medicinal patient, it would likely have less weight in court depending on severity of the situation. Recreational laws can really get one in a bind.
Even though 10 grams of cannabis is the allotment limit for recreational use, meaning any use not under the advising of a doctors prescription one could still be charged with mire than that amount depending on potency of product.
If there is 3.5 grams of diamonds then one would likely be charged with a felony, which is more than 10 grams of cannabis 'flower' 'OR ITS EQUIVALENT' If you have a quarter of Hells og, testing at 35% its likely you may get charged with more than 7 grams. However they fail to apply the same reasoning to someone arrested with a bag of bunk Mexican brick pack Reggie.
Legalization has 2Aspects, medicinal legalization & Recreational legalization. I will get into the exact differences between these two Aspects of the legalization of cannabis in my next video.
It's also important to note that while my state of Maryland does have decriminalization of Recreational cannabis and legalization of medicinal cannabis, not all medicinally legal states will also have Recreational decriminalization. These are seperate parts of this law.
