This is a comparative Bible study on the events surrounding the beginning of Jesus' Galilean ministry. This 31st part further discusses the accusation of the Pharisees that Jesus' disciples did something unlawful on the sabbath day while traveling through the corn fields, in particular, we look at Jesus' reply that the priests profane the sabbath and are blameless. This Bible study is within a sub-series that we have begun to study regarding Jesus being asked questions about the sabbath (Matthew 12:1-14; Mark 2:23 – 3:6; Luke 6:1-11). Other verses referenced during this Bible study are: Deuteronomy 5:14; Acts 15:3-11; Numbers 28:3-4; Numbers 28:9-10; Numbers 28:11; Numbers 28:23-24; John 7:16-24; Matthew 19:4; Matthew 21:16; Matthew 21:42; Matthew 22:29; Matthew 22:31; Matthew 24:15; Isaiah 58:13-14. Overall, this is our 71st New Testament (NT) Bible study. I'm a layperson, hoping to witness things I believe I've learned through Bible study, and would like to share this information as a friend would with a friend.
