Benita Pedersen and David Thomas present front of Westlock Town Office about rainbow crosswalk
Westlock Town Council approved a rainbow crosswalk to be painted in Westlock on 106 Street in front of town office and the Westlock Legion.
There are many in Westlock who oppose of this project for various reasons. One of the reasons this project is opposed is that many residents of Westlock feel that public spaces need to remain neutral places.
The rainbow crosswalk was originally scheduled to be painted on Sunday, June 18, Father’s Day. Due to wet weather, the painting of the rainbow crosswalk was rescheduled for Tuesday, June 27.
In this broadcast, Benita Pedersen and David Thomas express reasons for pausing the rainbow crosswalk and share some other concerns about the way council is operating and the way the local media is handling this issue.
