Tie-dye pattern : St. Patrick's Day Lucky Charm | HORSESHOE!

In this video I demonstrate how to tie-dye a St. Patrick's Day Lucky Charm - HORSESHOE! on a t-shirt. As always the t-shirt has first been washed and soaked in soda ash (1 cup of soda ash per 1 gallon of warm water) and then spun out in the washer so that the material is damp but not sopping wet. With the t-shirt still damp, I begin this tie-dye tutorial with the drawing of the horseshoe on to the shirt. Next I pleat fold the horseshoe and bind it with sinew. To finish the tying portion of the shirt, I then scrunch the remaining material and bind with rubber bands.
With the t-shirt all tied up, I now move on apply the chosen liquid dye colors (shown in the video) to the t-shirt, and then let the t-shirt sit undisturbed for 24 hours to allow the dye time to set into the fabric and bond with the t-shirt. After the 24 hours are up, I give the t-shirt a good rinse while squeezing the material to remove all of the excess dye. Now to finish up it's time to remove the rubber bands and reveal our new Tie Dye St. Patrick's Day Horseshoe Lucky Charm t-shirt! I hope you enjoy and as always...Happy Tie Dyeing!
