Delilah - Tom Jones - Acoustic Cover by Geri Ward Music and part of what's becoming very popular - Rehearsal Series, this is song number 18 (RS#18). Originally performed by the favourite Welsh Male Singer… snake hips… power vocals of Sir Tom Jones. Tom Jones Delilah was a huge hit for Tom back in the 60's. in fact to this day Delilah Tom Jones can be heard at parties, bars and clubs all over the world. It is probably one of the most recognised Tom Jones Songs. There's many a clubland act here in the UK who who have a plethora of Tom Jones Covers at the ready, If only just to get people up on the dance floor.

These days the song is said to have sinister connotations of murder and some say insights of domestic abuse and domestic violence against women and hate against women. Whilst I can see where they're coming from by the lyrics in the full song. I think there are far worse Murder songs out there today inciting the most dreadful things. Personally I just like the song and take the lyrics with a bit of fun as I think Tom Jones intended it to be. Rightly or wrongly things we're very different in the 1960's, or indeed when this song was released in 1968. Domestic violence of any kind, isn't acceptable now nor should it have ever been.

My video song isn't of high quality. It's a short film catching me unawares whilst rehearsing in my kitchen at home!

This video was never meant to be filmed. After filming a previous YouTube video for her channel , Geri hadn't realised the camera was still rolling!!! Hence why its not a full cover version… quite a bit of the song is missing as you'll discover as you watch. We felt however that it had to be shown, as its a little more of a natural take. And Geri is a little more relaxed as she isn't aware that she's being filmed.

We hope you enjoy the video and Subscribe to the channel. Thank you for watching.

Delilah - Tom Jones - Lyrics
======================
I saw the light on the night that I passed by her window
I saw the flickering shadows of love on her blind
She was my woman
As she deceived me, I watched and went out of my mind
My, my, my, Delilah
Why, why, why, Delilah
I could see, that girl was no good for me
But I was lost like a slave that no man could free
At break of day when that man drove away, I was waiting
I crossed the street to her house and she opened the door
She stood there laughing
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more
My, my, my, Delilah
Why, why, why, Delilah
So before they come to break down the door
Forgive me Delilah, I just couldn't take anymore
She stood there laughing
I felt the knife in my hand and she laughed no more
My, my, my, Delilah
Why, why, why, Delilah
So before they come to break down the door
Forgive me, Delilah, I just couldn't take anymore
Forgive me, Delilah, I just couldn't take anymore
