Large scale renewable energy projects have the potential to generate huge amounts of electricity but often lack the infrastructure to connect that power to the grid. The Cardinal-Hickory Creek Transmission Project, a new 345kV line spanning over 100 miles from Northeast Iowa to Western Wisconsin, aims to change that.
Once completed, the transmission line will provide economic benefits, support renewable energy policies, and improve the reliability of the electric grid in the Midwest. The project requires the skills, experience, and safety of the NECA/IBEW Powering America Team to construct this crucial piece of infrastructure, connecting renewable energy sources to the communities that need it most.
