The US Navy recently released footage of SAFFiR, a humanoid firefighting robot which they've been developing with Virginia Tech engineers. The 5-foot-10 robot weighs 143 pounds, and is equipped with a rotating light detection and ranging laser to be able to make its way through dense smoke. Credit to 'US Navy'.
