In this episode of the Kanawha Valley Hustler’s Podcast, I had the pleasure of interviewing Justin Phillips, a remarkable individual with a unique business. Justin is the president of the Fun Fitness Foundation and the COO of the Fun Fitness for Kids Club. Together with his wife, they are on a mission to curb the obesity rate in West Virginia, particularly among children.

The Fun Fitness Foundation operates a mobile playground—a 77-passenger bus that they have renovated into a vibrant and engaging space for kids. This colorful bus is hard to miss, and it serves as a catalyst for children to get active, play, and interact with each other. It's a much-needed break from screens and technology, fostering physical activity and social interaction.

I admire Justin and his wife's commitment to their mission. West Virginia has the highest adult obesity rate and the second-highest child obesity rate in the country. They recognized this problem and took it upon themselves to make a difference. Their efforts have not gone unnoticed, as they received recognition from the Small Business Administration and the Herbert Henderson Office of Minority Affairs.
