Hanging Out with Pixel Game Squad, Gabbo, Retro Rick & More at SEGE

We were recently able to attend the Southeast Game Exchange again, one of our favorite events of the year. One of the things we love about it is the fact that so many of our close friends are there that we get to hang out with that live all around the country. It's been almost 2 years since I've seen a lot of these guys at the 2021 Southeast Game Exchange. That was the last time I got to see Retro Rick & Riff (Aaron) from the Pixel Game Squad (Retro Liberty). I did get to see Gabbo more recently at the Midwest Gaming Classic, along with The Immortal John Hancock. Two guys I got to meet here for the very first time were Tyler Esposito from My Retro Life and Ricky from the Pixel Game Squad. I've talked with both of these guts over the years, and trolled Tyler about Darkwing Duck on the TurboGrafx 16, but this was the first time I got to meet them in person.

One of the things I love about the Southeast Game Exchange is how much it just feels like a family reunion. Sure, we're all there to either buy or sell, but after the show is over at the end of the night, we love hanging out with each other. This is what the community is all about, fellowship, bonding, laughing and having a good time, and just enjoying each other's company separate from even the hobby we all love so very much.

I also love the fact that this group, my friends, none of us hesitate to bust on the other. Just about anything and anyone is fair game at any moment. We don't take ourselves too seriously, we laugh hard, we have lots of fun, and we just enjoy ourselves.

A lot of the credit for this attitude and energy around the event has to go to Austin, the organizer of the Southeast Game Exchange. He has the very best people around him and invites some of the best people in the community to give their most and their best to others. I love that about this show, it is Southern hospitality but in a video game way. This is why we love coming to SEGE, and Hanging Out with Pixel Game Squad, Gabbo, Retro Rick & More.
