There are Sharks everywhere in Florida off the beach! Especially when fishing for pompano and fishing for permit off the beach! So we thought why not do some fishing and surfing with sharks!

Obviously we did not get attacked by a shark because this is a pompano catch and cook episode! It's actually more cooking than that! We also do a permit catch and cook on this fishing and cooking episode here on the South Florida Fishing Channel.

It's a Cookoff! Pompano vs permit. Does permit taste better than pompano? Or since Florida Pompano is the best eating fish maybe it's better to ask Does permit taste like pompano? I will tell you how I feel about pompano vs permit and which tastes better in a moment. But first it's time to go surfing. Florida surfing can be so good!

We see lots of sharks jumping while fishing and surfing. Gotta love the idea of surfing with sharks! That will make you curl your toes. After we shred the Florida waves and get our surfing session in it's time to catch and cook pompano.

I am using a pompano rig from the South Florida Fishing Channel shop and using live sand fleas for bait. We also use frozen sand fleas as pompano bait. I guess you can also call it permit bait! Since we catch permit while fishing for pompano! We don't catch sharks, but we do have some sharks break off our rigs!

For the cooking part of this fishing episode! So in this catch and cook what do I like more? Pompano vs permit? Pompano and permit taste the same in my opinion but permit is a little bit more of a firm meat. Pompano is like butter and super soft. So does permit taste like pompano? I would say yes, and they even almost look the same!
