They say you should pamper yourself every once in awhile. You know, get a mani-pedi, splurge on some clothes, maybe get a deep facial, or just go to a massage parlor. It is the perfect way to dedicate some alone time with yourself.

It has been an increasingly popular thing among pet owners to bring their pets to a massage therapist. It all began with physical therapy for disabled or ill-stricken pets to help them get better accustomed to their new-found abilities. But now there are massage therapists specialized for animal massage therapy.

Toto, a 2-year-old Golden Retriever dog, loves to be relaxed by massage. His owner, obviously an experienced massage therapist, treats his pup with the occasional Thai deep massage and the dog is loving it! Laid down on his back, Toto mediates while his owner massages his head and chest. Just watching him enjoy this treat sends goosebumps down our spines; the good kind.

Thai massage generally follows designated lines ("sen") in the body. The legs and feet of the giver can be used to position the body or limbs of the recipient. In other positions, hands fix the body, while the feet do the massaging. A full Thai massage session may last two hours and includes rhythmic pressing and stretching of the entire body. This may include pulling fingers, toes, ears, cracking knuckles, walking on the recipient's back, and moving the recipient's body into many different positions. There is a standard procedure and rhythm to the massage, which the giver will adjust to fit the receiver.
