The DJI Mavic 3 is equipped with a 4/3 CMOS Hasselblad Camera, which means that it has a larger sensor compared to other drones. This allows it to capture more light and produce high-quality images and videos.
The selective aperture feature also adds to the overall image quality. I was so impressed with the capabilities of this drone that I decided to go a step further and obtain the Part 107 Commercial Drone Certification.
This certification ensures that I am aware of and adhere to the FAA airspace regulations while using the drone. It gives me the confidence to fly the drone professionally and legally.
One of the standout features of the DJI Mavic 3 is its smooth flight performance. It flies with such stability and ease, making it a breeze to capture stunning shots.
I particularly love using its multi-shot panorama mode, which creates breathtaking wide-angle images. I have attached one such image to showcase the drones capabilities.
I do understand that the DJI Mavic 3 comes with a high price tag.
However, if you are someone who is passionate about aerial photography and videography and dont want to hire a pilot every time you want to capture aerial shots, this drone is worth the investment.
This is the first drone I have ever flown and owned. I am truly loving it so far. I might not have anything to compare it to, but the Mavic 3 Cine has exceeded my expectations in terms of smooth and responsive flight controls.
The obstacle avoidance feature of the drone works impressively well. It stops almost instantly when faced with obstacles and evades them smoothly while on the go.
I would say it has a success rate of 98% in stop mode and 100% in go-around mode. The remote control that comes with the Mavic 3 has a sturdy 400 ft height coverage, (I will update the distance coverage as I continue to use it).
The battery on the remote control lasts almost 6 drone battery life cycles. This gives me ample time to fly the drone without constantly worrying about running out of power.
Speaking of battery life, the Mavic 3 drone itself provides around 29 minutes and 17 seconds of flight time on a single charge.
However, its important to note that when the battery reaches 15%, the drone automatically begins its return-to-home feature, ensuring that it doesnt fly away and gets back safely to its take-off location.
To be on the safe side, I usually set a timer on my phone for 25 minutes when flying. In terms of speed, I have reached an approximate top speed of 20 mph.
I havent tested it beyond that yet. However, I do have an update on the speed. I managed to reach a speed of 44 mph. Keep in mind that at this speed, the obstacle avoidance and handling capabilities are minimized, so caution is required.
Overall, the DJI Mavic 3 stands out as a top-notch drone for photographers and videographers.
Its image quality, smooth flight performance, obstacle avoidance, and a decent battery life make it a worthwhile investment for those who want to capture stunning aerial shots.
