The American bison, which we all know by its common name American buffalo or just buffalo for short, is a North American species of bison that once upon a time populated the grassland regions of North America, grouped in large herds.

Due to an unfortunate combination of slaughter and commercial hunting two centuries ago, this species was almost extinct, but thanks to the hard-working people of the national parks and reserves, have made a recent resurgence. Bison are found in publicly and privately held herds.

Although we are used to seeing large dogs as "controllers" of the herd's movement (shepherd dogs), thanks to the recent development in technology this job can also be done by a flying drone. In this case, the bison are a bit reluctant over the presence of the drone, but they seem unbothered nonetheless. Unlike shepherd dogs which unfortunately don't have the ability to take photos (unless you strap a GoPro camera on their heads), drones can create such amazing imagery that will leave anyone speechless.

This aerial footage of the herd looks amazing, as we can see a different perspective of this gracious animal's daily life and routine. They are peacefully grazing and running around the vast field, as if they don't have a single worry in the world.
