BREAKING: Hunter Biden Plea Deal Talks COLLAPSE, Special Counsel Investigation Named

Trish Regan reports that Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss is being named as special counsel in the government’s case against Hunter Biden. The move comes after plea deal discussions between Hunter Biden and the Federal Government collapsed.

According to Attorney General Merrick Garland, U.S. Attorney David Weiss specifically asked to be named Special Counsel in this case.

Hunter Biden’s lawyers maintain that their client will not need to go to trial and expect this to be resolved out of court.

The special counsel appointment comes after Hunter Biden pleaded not guilty to federal tax charges — his not guilty plea was the result of U.S. District Judge Maryellen Norieka refusing to sign off on an earlier deal which would have provided Hunter Biden with immunity from any charges related to illegal foreign lobbying. The judge had said she needed more time to review it given how atypical its provisions were.
