What is “The Mandala Effect" ?
"The Mandala Effect" is the concept that as we all work on our own happiness we have a 'ripple' effect on the entire world. When you notice that the blueprint of the "Entire Universe" is made up of mandalas, including cells, galaxies and flowers. It makes you understand that when you work on your mandala, together we are changing the world.
Here are the top 7 “Mandala Effects”
1 - Focusing attention on following the pattern of the mandala helps quiet the mind and focus awareness in the present moment, rather than thinking about the past or future. This can reduce stress and rumination.
2 - The circular or spiral shape symbolizes wholeness, cycle of life, and the connection of all things. Walking its path can foster a sense of integration, oneness and calm.
3 - Mantras or certain breaths coordinated with steps may induce relaxation and altered states of consciousness over time. For example, inhaling while stepping right foot, exhaling while stepping left.
4 - It's a moving meditation, so provides some of the mindfulness benefits of walking meditation while also engaging visual focus. This can make it easier to sustain attention than a purely sitting practice.
5 - For many, it inspires spiritual contemplation on symbolic meanings within the mandala and how following its pattern relates to life's journey or achieving enlightenment.
6 - Reports of experiences include increased relaxation, reduced distractibility, heightened awareness of body/breath connections, feelings of expanded and connected presence, or brief glimpses of optical light/visual effects.
So in short, it aims to concentrate the mind, induce calm and insight through movement within a spiritually symbolic circular form. The experience can vary but often includes meditative presence and contemplation.
