RAF Typhoons scramble to intercept two Russian bombers after they threatened UK airspace

In a bold maneuver, two Russian “Bear” bombers were intercepted by RAF Typhoon jets as they encroached upon UK airspace.

The quick response saw the two fighter jets dispatched from RAF Lossiemouth, effectively pursuing the Cold War-era aircraft dispatched by Vladimir Putin’s military.

Accompanying the jets on this operation was an RAF Voyager air-to-air refuelling tanker, the Daily Sun has reported.

Simultaneously, reports suggest that the Royal Navy was engaged in monitoring the movements of a Russian corvette, RFS Merkuriy, believed to have traversed the English Channel during the weekend.
