What exactly happened with the Hawaii fires? The controversy is heating up with extreme views on both sides of the spectrum. Residents are trying to communicate that the mainstream media is ignoring important information, while the “truther” community also has its own inaccuracies. Rather than arguing who’s right or wrong, though, maybe it’s time to focus on the ambulance chasers: Why are big real estate companies already trying to swoop in and buy out people who have land in Maui or whose homes were burned to the ground? What energy plans were negotiated in Maui a few months before the fires? Could this be laying the groundwork for building “smart cities”?
