Laurie: My name is Laurie, and I'm from Landrum, South Carolina. Mom.
Janese: I'm Janese Lindsay from Pensacola Florida.
Martha: I'm Martha Pascal I'm from [inaudible 00:00:19].
Christopher: What brought you up here to Minneapolis?
Martha: My sister.
Janese: My daughter.
Martha: It's her.
Laurie: And, Christopher's book. I woke up one morning and my make up wasn't right and I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong and it dawned on me after forty-seven years that maybe someone had written a book about make up that could help me. I went on Amazon and I was doing some research and I came up with a long list of books on make up and I sorted by the book with the highest rating and Christopher's came up to the top and being over forty-five it would fit me perfectly.
I didn't want to come up here alone so I talked my Mom into coming up with me, and then my sister coming with us also so here we are.
Martha: A little bit more polished look. I spent fifteen years in mortgage banking, fifteen years in suits and the last ten I have spent working as a consultant in non-profit affordable housing and we are not known for high fashion. I'm back into the consulting world and need to get a little bit more pulled together. My husband tells me this frequently. I'm forty-nine, things are starting to droop and grey and change and I'm still putting on make up and not really doing anything with my hair and just the routine is what I had when I was twenty, twenty-five.
Laurie: We want our mom to actually have a hairstyle.
Janese: Come on, come on. As you can tell these are my daughters.
Speaker 5: Any time you have gathers any place on the front of your shirt your going to have more fullness in the bust. It also makes it a little easier to wear sometimes. You don't have buttons [inaudible 00:02:17] and things.
Christopher: You want sexy.
Janese: No.
Christopher: Hot.
Janese: Please no.
Christopher: Never. We see the red finger nails, we know. She had [inaudible 00:02:43] hair and it's no longer [inaudible 00:02:43].
Cute.
Martha: Oh, my god.
Speaker 5: If you're going to wear ruffles at all you want them low and maybe some in here, but not stands high on your neck. Let's see, a funnel is acceptable. A funnel is like a mock turtleneck only it doesn't hug your neck it stands away from your neck a little bit.
Christopher: I would never guess your age.
Laurie: We had a blast.
Martha: It was a great time and the results are just unbelievable. For me it was the haircut.
Janese: Me too.
Martha: The change. Christopher, was, it was a work in progress.
Laurie: I think the people were my favorite part of these.
Janese: Mm-hmm (affirmative).
Martha: So nice.
Laurie: We said, earlier today that if we got nothing out of the make over we met some really great people here today and I think we're more than pleased with the make overs but the people were really an added bonus.
Janese: It's a wonderful place to come and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Christopher: Excellent. Are you going to come back to visit us at some point?
