The 2023 Dogs of Dow Jones | Dividend Investing Strategy

This clip is from July 30th, 2023's Monthly Conference Call. The word 'Dogs' refers to the stocks in the Dow Jones Industrial Average Index that have the highest dividend yield due to the fact they have a lower share price and are out of favor with investors. 

The Dogs of the Dow 2023 stocks include Verizon Communications, Intel, Walgreens, Dow Inc, 3M, Chevron, IBM, Amgen, Cisco Systems and JP Morgan Chase & Co.

Only one Dogs of the Dow variant has proven to beat the performance of the DJIA – the so-called “small Dogs of the Dow” strategy. The Small Dogs of the Dow requires that investors further concentrate their positions by investing in only 5 of the highest-yielding Dow components with the lowest stock price. The ordinary Dogs of the Dow strategy tells investors to purchase the 10 highest-yielding stocks regardless of the stock price.
