BAREFOOT RUNNING: AN ANCESTRALLY APPROPRIATE EXERCISE & POTENT NATURAL NOOTROPIC

For over a decade I have been walking barefoot for at least 1 hour a day. This is done on a mixture of concrete, grass, & dirt. Roughly 5 years ago I began to take this to the next level by starting to barefoot run. Barefoot running almost instantly changed my life, as I found that the more I did it, the better I felt. It has created long standing, beneficial change to my mind & body, and the more I do it, the more I want to keep doing it. Barefoot running, if done properly, will make you feel amazing. I have found it to be a potent natural nootropic & anti-depressant/anti anxiety modality. I have for years experimented with various exercise programs i.e yoga, cycling, swimming, high intensity training programs, weight lifting, etc - and not one of them comes close to the power of barefoot running other than properly administered & executed Kundalini yoga.

You will find as you continue to barefoot run, that both your stamina & endurance evolve. Over a period of time, & with a proper training regimen, you will find yourself continually setting and achieving new PR's. This is a very good thing, as it is quite rewarding to witness and feel your development. Before you know it, you might find, much like I did, that you can go over an hour without stopping, at a high speed. Once you get to this point you will really start to experience the profound, life changing qualities of barefoot running. When you find that your recovery time is short, whereas when you first started it was not, you will begin to feel a deep sense of accomplishment because of your hard work and training. When you accomplish things like this, you begin to feel good. This is what you want.

One of the most fascinating facets of the multi faceted benefits of barefoot running, is the ability it gives you to problem solve. While running, you can enter into deeply profound states of mental clarity. This is often referred to as a runners high. I have found through trial & error, that this runners high does not have the same effects on my mind & body, if I am running in shoes. This, in my opinion, is predicated upon a handful of reasons. One of the primary reasons, at least in my opinion, is because when we run in shoes we cannot get grounded to the earth. This is because of the shoe sole separating and shielding the foot from being able to come into direct contact with the earth. Barefoot running, if done properly, allows you to come directly into contact with the earth, grass, sand, and dirt. When I run, I do mixture of grounded running, as well as running directly on concrete. Contrary to what you would expect, running on concrete does not hurt, and actually feels quite soft on the feet once you get used to it and discover proper foot placement and striking.

It was not until somewhat recently in our human development that we began to domesticate our feet by wearing shoes constantly. This, in my opinion, has done massive damage to the human skeletal frame. Shoes cause the body to learn forward while both walking and running, and force your body to compensate for its natural posture being thrown out of alignment. For thousands of years our ancestors ran barefoot. They had to be fit, capable, and in excellent running shape - as our ancestors had to hunt, track, and chase down large animals for food. In fact, as humans, one of our most powerful abilities, is to be able to run for very long distances. Our primal ancient ancestors, through their tremendous running endurance, were able, in groups, to out run animals to the point where the animal could no longer run. This, then allowed them to hunt the fatigued prey and utilize it for food to feed the entire tribe.

It is my personal opinion, that when we run barefoot, we begin to wake up deep seated, muted and culturally shut of ancestral hormonal shifts, states of consciousness, and genetic memories. This really cannot be explained, and must be experienced. Barefoot running will benefit every aspect of your life. Don't you want to have potent stamina & endurance? This will give you a huge advantage over 90% of the population that can barely walk a mile, let alone run one.

While out on my runs, I often enter into a deeply altered state of consciousness where I feel very close to my creator. It is a state of gnosis where via running, we begin to enter very powerful states of clarity whereby we can begin to problem solve in ways that we prior could not.
