The 9/11 Pentagon attack, occurring on September 11, 2001, was a devastating terrorist act orchestrated by al-Qaeda. American Airlines Flight 77, a commercial jetliner, was hijacked by five terrorists who crashed it into the Pentagon, the headquarters of the United States Department of Defense in Arlington, Virginia.
