The devastating floods in eastern Libya have left over 5,300 dead 10,000 people missing and around 30,000 displaced in Derna and other towns. Derna was hit hard, experiencing waves up to 23 feet high that submerged the city and caused extensive destruction. The wall of water erased everything in its way. Videos showed large swaths of mud and wreckage where the raging waters had swept away neighborhoods on both banks of the river.

Roads are flooded this Tuesday, September 12, in the evening, around Perpignan, in Southern France after the passage of a violent storm accompanied by hail. Downpours and hail fell on the Eastern Pyrenees, and in particular Perpignan.

More than 2,500 people died when a powerful magnitude 6.8 earthquake struck Morocco on Sept. 8. The epicenter was in the High Atlas Mountains, 44 miles southwest of Marrakesh. The hope of finding earthquake survivors trapped under their homes in some of the remotest parts of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco was fading rapidly as rescue efforts continued into their fourth day.

Nearly 70 adult crocodiles have escaped a farm after rainstorms battered southern China. Heavy rain has wreaked havoc in southern China and killed at least seven people amid record rainfall across the region. Days of relentless rain from the remnants of former Typhoon Haikui have caused more than 100 landslides in China, trapping about 1,360 residents in floodwater. Heavy rains continued in the region on Sunday and Monday, triggering several landslides further west.
