A large fight that broke out in front of a nightclub resulted in the shooting death of a father-of-three from Cleveland in the chest. According to police, on August 20, 2012, around 2:30 in the morning, a sizable crowd gathered in a parking lot on Lee Road close to Judson Avenue. Authorities claim that during the altercation, Anthony Conner, who was 27 at the time, took out a handgun and fired several shots into the crowd and in the direction of the officers, striking the victim in the chest. Three young children and a fiancée are left behind by the victim, 21-year-old Damon Woodard. Police are uncertain as to whether he was the intended victim or what precipitated the altercation. Woodard's dad claimed he doesn't believe his son is acquainted with the suspect. They must take action to stop these pistols up here. There are far too many senseless deaths of innocent people, according to Louis Woodard. Woodard added that his son was at the Sirrah House the night of the shooting to honor the life of a friend who had passed away. Police fired back at Conner during the altercation, but he was not hit. The suspect ran off, but was quickly apprehended on the spot. According to witness Darin Bailey, "There was a guy running, and he had his pants down. The police arrived the very next moment. They pursued the individual. ran over him and grabbed him. Although the fight took place outside, staff members at the nightclub across the street claim that security is always on duty. Tragically, the younger generation lacks social skills. They have no regard for anyone or anything, including themselves, the club, or Sirrah House manager Divard Jones.

Anthony Conner, 38, was found guilty on Thursday of killing Damon Woodard, 21, on August 20, 2012. Conner, a Cleveland resident, was found guilty of one count of aggravated murder, one count of murder, two counts of felonious assault, one count of firing a gun into or near a prohibited structure, and one count of possessing a firearm while disabled.
