Communist fighter? Nazi spy? Hedonist playboy? Father of four? All of this and more has been used to describe Errol Flynn (1909-1959). Australian Errol Flynn was always the adventurer on film, the swashbuckling heir to Douglas Fairbanks, the pirate, the rogue, the sailor. Working on a sheep farm, in tobacco farming and slave trading in his native Australia, Flynn already had quite the resume when he arrived in New York to work for Warner Brothers. Known today for his smash hit Robin Hood (1938), Flynn was also a journalist and supported various political factions in Spain and Cuba.
