The Jewish High Holidays are in full swing. The next one is called Sukkot. It’s a week long holiday where we as Orthodox Jews commemorate the exodus of Egypt our miraculous journey through the desert where we made “Succahs” which are make shift tents. In this weeks video I will share what a Succah looks like and how we live in 1. Of Course there are delicious recipes as well in the video.

🥣Frikadelki Meatball Soup:
Sauté 1 onion, 3 celery stalks-and 3 large carrots for 7 minutes seasoned with S/P. Add water to a 5 Qt soup pot. Season with S/P, bay leaves. To make the meatballs mix ground beef with riceand grated onion seasoned with S/P. Place tiny balls into the soup. Cook for atleast 1 hour. Add in a whole bunch of dill.

Oshtoky/Dolma:
For the filling mix 1.5lbs of ground meat, 3/4 cups of washed and drained raw rice, grated onion, green apple and tomato. 1/4 cup of tomato sauce, and 1 tbspn of salt. Mix thoroughly and stuff into grape leaves. Cook for 2-3 hours.

🍣Sushi Bundt Cake:
To make the rice:
4 cups of rice
6 cups of water
Boil until water evaporates. Lower the flame, cover with paper towels, close the lid and allow to steam for 20 minutes.

🥮Chiffon Cake:
5 Egg yolks beat until light and fluffy
Add 3/4 Cup Of sugar, 1 tsp of vanilla, 1/2 cup of oil, 3/4 cup of OJ, 1 &3/4 Cup of flour, 2 tsp baking powder. Set aside.
Beat 8 egg whites until stiff peaks. Add 1/2 Cup Of sugar & beat 1 more minute. Gently fold whites into yolks.

Bake at 350F for 50 minutes.
