Fiberglass Gelcoat Repair of Large Missing Areas - Boston Whaler Restoration Part 6

See how I repair the bulkhead of this Boston Whaler restoration that had a large piece of missing fiberglass and Gelcoat. This Gelcoat repair is effective for non structural areas, I wouldn't do this on a hull or floor. The fiberglass repair can be done easily on this Whaler since there is a foam backing that the epoxy resin can adhere too. This gelcoat restoration will be undetectable when finished! My gelcoat repair kit mainly consisted of epoxy resin and milled glass thickener as well as the standard set of application and cleanup tools and materials. If you love restoring boats, watch this!

Here are some affiliate links to the materials I'm using:
Fairing Compound: https://amzn.to/39Hr3I7
TotalBoat 5:1 Slow Epoxy: https://amzn.to/2wV9Vla
Milled Glass: https://amzn.to/3bTYuZw

One thing I should add, I didn't capture this on video, but you should grind away the edges and some of the substrate to give the epoxy a good base to adhere too.
