As part of an Australian tagging program to track migration patterns, this crew spent its day chasing marlin near the Gold Coast in Australia. Unfortunately for them, one Blue Marlin isn't getting tagged without putting up a fight. This fish is definitely out for blood!

Occurred on September 10, 2017, the video shows a crew of scientists attempting to capture one elusive blue marlin in order to place a tag on it. Blue Marlin are generally the most spectacular and the finest fighters of all the marlin species. They have the strength of the black marlin, the agility of the striped and the speed of a white.

"The crew was out all day chasing Marlin. Fish are tagged and released as part of Australian tagging program that tracks fish migration. We hooked up to a Blue Marlin, while near the boat it flew out of the water nearly taking out one of the crew before the line snapped and this fish got away." said one of the crew.

Pacific and Atlantic blue marlin are usually found in the warm waters of the equatorial regions. They are not usually found close to land unless there is a deep drop of 500 to 1 000 fathoms as in the waters of Kona, Hawaii and the Canary Islands.
