Stingray keeper at Ripley's Aquarium has the most amazing job
Ripley's Aquarium in Toronto is home to Cownose Rays, Southern Stingrays, Spotted Eagle Rays, Bonnethead Sharks and Leopard Sharks. The rays glide through the water with incredible grace like large, majestic birds.
Rays feed on crustaceans, fish and squid, using their mouths and snouts to dig through the sand on the ocean bottom to uncover their prey.
At Ripley's Aquarium, one lucky man has the job of donning his scuba gear and swimming among these beautiful and gentle animals. He dives to the bottom of the tank to feed and check the creatures. When that's done, he kneels in the shallow part of the tank on the sand with a bucket of food. The rays circle and approach, taking food right out of his hand. The Cownose Rays are fed fish but the Spotted Eagle Rays eat squid.
Imagine having a job that requires you to swim among hundreds of these beautiful rays and sharks every day.
