Israelis held a minute of standing silence to commemorate the victims of Hamas’s October 7 massacre across southern Israel. This is also a day when the families of the over 200 people still held hostage in Gaza are demanding that more be done to bring them back.
The IDF says that an Israeli military tank "attacked a terrorist squad" in Lebanon, which it says "tried to launch an anti-tank missile" towards the Shatula area. Earlier, IDF forces attacked a Hezbollah position “to remove a threat,” the Israeli military says, without elaborating. Cross-border fire between northern Israel and southern Lebanon has been frequent since October 7.
Three armed drones have been shot down over Erbil airport in northern Iraq where US forces and other international troops are stationed. The facility was targeted in two separate attacks, Iraqi Kurdistan’s counterterrorism service said in a statement. The defence system at the military base near the airport successfully brought the drones down, reports say.
