TCG Anadolu is designed to handle a versatile array of equipment and personnel, including a combination of helicopters, fighters, drones, marine troops, and landing crafts.

Turkish-made military drones have gained significant recognition over the past few years. Turkey wants to further strengthen this technological momentum achieved in the military field.

When exclusively configured for drone operations, Anadolu can accommodate 30 to 50 TB-2 or more advanced TB-3 Bayraktar drones, as well as the turbofan-powered Kızılelma (Red Apple) combat UAV/unmanned fighters.

This capacity positions it to become the world's first drone-only aircraft carrier by the mid-2020s.

TCG Anadolu is also armed with 1 RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) launcher, 2 Phalanx Close-In Weapon Systems (CIWS), and 5 Aselsan STOP Remote Controlled Weapon Stations (RCWS) with 25 mm guns.

With the full-scale implementation of TCG Anadolu's carrier capability in 2025, the Turkish Navy will assume the leadership of a new doctrine in naval aviation.
