This Old Deer Stand Must GO Before Season Starts!
Deer season in Kentucky is here and I’m ditching this old ladder stand in favor of a new hang-on stand. Who is ready for whitetail deer hunting in Kentucky?

Our main goal for our farm is to put the land to work for us and provide as much food for our family as we can. Most of the year that means dairy goats, beef cattle, and chickens, but in the fall we get to add something different: deer.
This deer season figures to be extra special as my wife, Megan, wants to go hunting for the first time. We purchased her a crossbow this summer and she is hoping to put some meat in the freezer over the next couple of months. We also spent a little extra money on me, too, and I got a new deer stand. For the past couple of years I’ve hunted from the ladder/platform contraption the previous owner left behind and, sure, it works…. But it leaves quite a bit to be desired. The season is approaching quickly so I’m happy to put this new hang-on stand up today.
I’m also excited to be debuting a new product here on the farm: Max Rax by Crossties Outdoors. This is a deer mineral made by a local friend of ours that has shown to have GREAT results when it comes to healthy mother deer and antler growth. It is also safe for goats (which is a must) and has copper and selenium in it so even if the goats do get into the mineral lick it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.
Hunting isn’t just part of our tradition, it’s a way we can use the land to provide for our family. It allows us to stay connected to God’s Creation as we manage native habitat and spend quiet time outdoors. We take this responsibility seriously.
