Ronna McDaniel, resign

The stewardship of Ronna McDaniel – Ronna Romney McDaniel – over the Republican Party has been a disaster since it began. Since she took over, Republicans have had only one winning election cycle – the Virginia Pre-Midterms of 2021. In every other cycle, Republicans have lost ground, and now she makes the lamest possible excuse. For the good of the Party, the country, and arguably the world, she should resign and retire to private life.
The record of Ronna McDaniel
Ronna McDaniel became Chairman of the Republican National Committee in 2017. And as Vivek Ramaswamy made clear, on the third Presidential Primary debate that took place directly after the “Abortion Election” of 2023:
Since Ronna McDaniel took over as Chairman of the RNC in 2017, we’ve lost 2018, 2020, 2022 – no Red Wave, that never came – we got trounced last night in 2023. And I think we have to have accountability in our Party.
Ramaswamy, speaking to McDaniel directly, challenged her to take the stage and resign then and there. He then objected to the choice of moderators for that debate – a choice upon which she surely signed off. “We should have Tucker Carlson, Joe Rogan, and Elon Musk,” he said, instead of the moderators they did have.

In fact, after the poor showing in 2022, McDaniel almost lost her Chairmanship in January of 2023. Harmeet Dhillon came close to unseating her as several large Republican donors moved away from McDaniel. Yet somehow she hung on – and went on to lead the disastrous strategy for the 2023 off-year elections.
How disastrous?
Republicans lost control of the Virginia House of Delegates. It could have been worse – Republicans almost lost one Delegate seat to a woman who commits virtual prostitution. Also, Republicans missed an opportunity to disqualify a Senate incumbent – Senator Ghazala Hashmi (D-Chesterfield) – by reason of non-residency in the district.

And National couldn’t have figured that out ahead of time? Nor was that the only loss. Republicans, on her watch:
• Lost a Supreme Court seat in Pennsylvania,
• Saw abortion on demand for any reason or no reason enshrined in Ohio’s constitution, and
• Lost a governor’s race in Kentucky that they should have won.
So on Friday morning she offered the incredible excuse that she stayed out of the Virginia elections because Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-Va.) asked her to.

On Friday evening (November 10), Ronna McDaniel sat for an interview with Laura Ingraham. By all accounts it was the worst interview she could have given, in which she offered a litany of excuses.

“We don’t do the messaging”? Well, maybe she should have. The Democrats certainly “did the messaging” on a national level, or at least four State-wide levels. The message was: we must leave no abortion unperformed. (Actually, The Virginia Mercury reports that a renewable-energy PAC funded Democratic candidates and possibly those abortion ads. They certainly had a motive – but a consistent defense of life could have blunted that attack.)
An internal loss
Separately, Ronna McDaniel lost a battle against a Christian organization offering an alternative forum to Presidential debates. The Iowa Family Leader will set up an event at which candidates, instead of standing at podiums on a stage, will sit down at a table and talk about their faith. Vivek Ramaswamy, Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.), and Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) have already agreed to take part. Well, McDaniel and the RNC threatened to exclude the three from the Presidential Debate series if they did. Unimpressed, Bob Vander Plaats, head of the IFL, said he would go ahead with his forum. Yesterday afternoon, Rachel Emmanuel of The Western Journal reported that McDaniel and the RNC withdrew their objections.

To their credit, the RNC already had moved to accommodate Vivek Ramaswamy’s objection to their choice of moderators. Therefore, at the Fourth Debate:
• Megyn Kelly, Elizabeth Vargus of NewsNation, and Eliana Johnson of The Washington Free Beacon will moderate, and
• Rumble.com will have the exclusive for livestreaming of the debate.

Commenters on Liberal Hivemind’s comment space reminded viewers of other parts of the Ronna McDaniel record. She supported Sen. Lisa Murkowski (RINO-Alaska), a member of the Murkowski-Begich Uniparty Dynastic Alliance in Alaska. Beyond that, she simply does not inspire confidence. That’s why she must resign.
