The last locomotive that failed to climb this grade was ELS 503 (SD40), today it was Escanaba and Lake Superior Railroad ELS 501 (SD40-2) a former EMD Milwaukee Road engine with one gondola of Alter Metal and a bunch of loaded center beam cars of Smart Siding from LP in Sagola, MI. It took ELS 503 3 attempts to make it, how many does it take ELS 501?
