Callie does a wonderful job of defining, listing the many characteristics of and telling how self-pity is defeated. Self-pity is being a victim of events and thinking we are deserving of condolences. It acts like an anesthesia and its mood altering substance is highly addictive. It likes to take on a victim’s role. There are a lot of “I’s” in self-pity. It likes to manipulate and punish others. It is a demon. It is one of the highest forms of pride. On the flip side you believe you are not worthy of forgiveness. It is like glue that will hold you to your past. Why is she so familiar with self-pity? Because she lived in it for many years. She shares that at one time in her life she knew there was a devil, and she thought he was chasing her around, and he was. She knew something was wrong and she begged for help. The Lord sent Randy to help her, to be her mentor. She has learned to quit giving the enemy time in her head! She shares a powerful vision she had of her earthly father after his passing. Following the segment on self-pity she launches into the subject of rejection which walks hand in hand with self-pity. We encourage you to listen to this in its entirety.
